Sophie Gastman RNutr

Registered Nutritionist, Author & Speaker

I’m Sophie - a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr), food lover, and the person behind @sophiethenutritionist.

I’ve spent the past five years working in public health, specialising in children’s health and behaviour change, before moving into the world of school food with Chefs in Schools.

My work has always sat at the intersection of nutrition science and real life - which is a polite way of saying I’m far more interested in what people actually eat than what they think they should be eating.

I’m also the author of Find Your Healthy, a cookbook built around the idea that there isn’t one “perfect” way to eat - just what works for you, your life, and your tastes. It’s practical, evidence-based, and doesn’t expect you to have the time, money, or inclination to cook like a professional chef every night.

Alongside this, I create content that challenges diet culture, unpicks nutrition myths, and (hopefully) makes food feel a bit less stressful and a bit more enjoyable again. You might have seen my work on BBC Food, Good Health by Good Food, or across social media, where I’m known for saying the things people are usually thinking but don’t quite have the words for.

At the core of everything I do is a simple idea:

Nutrition should support your life, not take it over.
